Contributor terms

Last updated: 19 October 2026

These terms cover documents that registered people upload to DocuLuma. Content collected from open official sources is not covered here: it follows the copyright policy and each source's own licence.

You keep ownership

Uploading a document transfers no ownership. You retain all rights in your work; DocuLuma takes only the non-exclusive licence described below, and you can end it by deleting the document.

What you warrant when publishing

  • That the document is yours, or that you have the rights holder's explicit permission to share it.
  • That it does not contain third-party protected material used without consent: whole book chapters, paywalled teaching material, reserved official exam papers or someone else's database.
  • That it contains no personal data about third parties, unlawful content, malware or deceptive advertising.
  • That you can answer a rights holder's claim if DocuLuma passes it on to you.

The licence you grant us

A worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive and revocable licence to store the file, generate the first-pages previews, show the document's public card and serve it from our servers. We do not place your content in third-party advertising and we do not sell it.

Review before publication

  • Every file goes through an automated review (format, readability, copyright risk and low-quality content) plus a manual check of borderline cases.
  • A rejected file is not published; you see the reason in your personal area and can re-submit a corrected version.
  • Current limits: 50 MB per file and 5 uploads per account per day.
  • Review does not make us a guarantor of your content's lawfulness: responsibility stays with the person who uploaded it.

Removal and suspension

  • You can delete your documents at any time; the file stops being served.
  • Content that breaks these terms or the copyright policy is removed without prior notice.
  • Repeated claims against the same account lead to suspension while we investigate.
  • Third-party takedown requests run through the takedown notice channel, on the timelines published there.

Availability

DocuLuma is provided "as is", with no uptime guarantee. We are early-stage: limits, categories and the service itself may change, and we will announce changes that affect already-published content.
